Jim Gough

Jim's cancer journey began in July 2022 when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. With the support of his doctor, Eddie Holden, Jim and his wife, Cara, sought treatment at M.D. Anderson in Houston, Texas. After completing eight cycles of chemotherapy at Clearview Cancer Institute, Jim was approved for Whipple surgery, which required a four-week stay in Houston in January 2023.

Following his recovery from surgery, he underwent four more cycles of chemotherapy. For the rest of 2023, his scans showed NED —no evidence of disease.

Unfortunately, 2024 brought new challenges. A scan in January revealed the cancer had returned, this time in his liver. The fight continues.

Jim and Cara couldn't have navigated this journey alone without the unwavering support of their family, friends, co-workers, and Jim's employer, TNT Fireworks.

They are deeply grateful for the exceptional care provided by the teams at M.D. Anderson, Clearview Cancer Institute, North Alabama Medical Center, and Helen Keller Hospital.
