Tia Davis

Tia Davis is 20 years old and the daughter of Cara and Steve Davis.
And Tia's siblings are her biggest fans!

Tia was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. It is not a cancer diagnosis, but it is treated as the same. Tia was found to have an extra fragment of a chromosome which is believed to have caused her body to reject making all blood cells: red cells, platelets, or anything. During this, Tia's appendix became inflamed and the Doctor's couldn't do surgery until they transfused her for three days to get her platelets high enough. Sweet Tia was living off of transfusions from July until February of 2024. She was fortunate in being a match with her sister for a bone marrow transplant! But to do so, Tia had to go through a month of several different types of chemo and full body radiation to deplete the rest of her own cells in order for the transplant to have a chance of being successful. Tia has a very rare diagnosis with only 2 in a 1,000,000 having the disease. Tia will have another bone marrow/bone biopsy May 10th to for a follow up. Tia's family had to move to Nashville in order to be close to the hospital for daily labs pre-transplant. As of now, Tia goes to the clinic one day a week, Thankfully, Tia is feeling pretty good her and her color is much better! As Tia continues to improve, she will graduate, get to ring the bell and have her port removed!

Tia's mom, Cara had a special bond with Shylee. And Cara misses her terribly.
Cara said, "I'm just sure when she got to heaven she talked to Jesus face to face about Tia.
I love her and miss her but I know I will see her again"
