LaTasha Henson

LaTasha Henson, 41, is a devoted mother of three: Ezra (4), Hannah (16), and London, who tragically passed away just before his 20th birthday. Latasha worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), caring for others until 2010, when her son London was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. She left her job to become his full-time caregiver. Originally from Greenhill, she now resides in Killen, AL, where she homeschools both Ezra and Hannah.

In 2021, LaTasha was diagnosed with colorectal cancer after undergoing emergency surgery. Despite multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, the cancer has spread to her lungs and adrenal glands. She continues to receive treatment at Clearview Cancer Institute in Florence and UAB in Birmingham.

Throughout her life, LaTasha has faced overwhelming challenges, from the financial strain of caring for London to the heartbreak of losing him. Despite these hardships, she remains resilient, fighting cancer and cherishing every moment with her children. She is deeply grateful for the support of The Shylee Smiles Foundation, which has helped alleviate her financial burdens and assist with needed home repairs.
